09/02/2007 Hong KongAfter a very long absence, I am back! Well...at least for now...
Let's just say that it has been a very very busy 2007. Everything from finding a new apartment in Osaka to taking a 5 day vacation to Hong Kong to having an interview that could move me from Osaka to Tokyo in about a month's time. With every day that passes bringing something new to the table, now I can say that I cannot expect what in the world tomorrow will bring. Definitely for me, the future is unpredictable.
Since this blog entry is about Hong Kong, why don't we get back on to the topic at hand...
From January 24 - 28, I took a vacation after about an 8 month layoff. With working being busy as ever, it was a challenge trying to find the time to take just a few days off of work to go and visit my friends from Ohio University in Hong Kong. With this being my first visit to Hong Kong (HK), I really did not know what to expect. But one thing was for sure, I wanted to eat some good food!
Since my friends knew ahead of time that my purpose was to eat HK delicacies, they didn't stop short in allowing me to try basically everything HK had to offer. I was surprised when I came back to Osaka to find out that I didn't put any pounds on as I thought for sure I had gained some weight.
In any event, HK was great! Great food and great friends always make for a great trip. I even had the chance to visit Macau (known as the Las Vegas of Asia) and walked away from the casinos with a few extra dollars in my pockets. As you can see in the pictures from my photo album, HK is a vibrant city with lots to offer in terms of culture.
Rest assured that I will be back in HK again.
Hopefully those who have not been there yet will also venture out to get a taste of what the city has to offer. |
